Save while you serve
Here are a few smart steps to help you make the most of your finances while serving
abroad:
Boost Your Savings While Abroad: During deployment, you’ll likely earn additional
allowances each week. Consider increasing your contributions to your ANSAC
savings account during this time. You can easily adjust it back to your original amount
before or when you return.
Review Your Budget: With fewer day-to-day expenses while overseas, it’s an ideal
time to build up savings for future goals like a home deposit, new car, or education.
Take this opportunity to review and cancel any unused or unwanted subscriptions to
maximise your savings.
Save for Your Children: If you have children and want to build savings for their future,
consider opening an account in their name before you deploy. You can then make
regular contributions while you’re away, helping their savings grow during your time
abroad.
Make the Most of Loan Repayments: If you already have a loan, consider increasing
repayments while abroad to reduce interest over time.
Set Clear Goals: Whether you're saving for leave, family needs, or future investments,
having a clear goal helps keep you motivated. Plan for how you'll use your extra
savings when you return—so your money works for you, not the other way around.
Stay in Touch: While you may not be able to access the ANSAC Mobile App during
deployment, you can still manage your account securely through our Online Banking.
