We hope this message finds you well.
As many of you will have spotted, we recently issued an email to those within our membership where the proof of address and or proof of I.D. have expired. If you haven’t already done so, please check your inbox and spam folder to see if you’re included in this cohort.
Why we’re requesting this information:
As a Credit Union, we're legally required under The Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act 2010 to have a valid and in-date copy of both of these items, referred to as Anti Money Laundering (AML) documents, on file for each of our members. More information on this ‘Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Guidelines for the Financial Sector’ by The Central Bank of Ireland can be found here.
What we require:
We kindly ask that you send us a copy of one of each of the following:
- Valid Photographic ID - Driver’s Licence, Passport or Defence Forces ID.
- Proof of Residence - Recent gas/electricity or telephone bill, recent bank/building society statement or TV licence. (Dated within the last 6 months)
How to send it to us:
Completing this verification process is easy and can be done through either of the following methods:
- Through our App: Log in to our user-friendly app and follow the straightforward steps to upload scanned copies or clear photos of your proof of address and updated identification. And please rest assured that any data transferred through the app is fully encrypted and secure.
- Email submission: If you prefer, you can email password protected versions of your proof of address and updated ID to us at info@ansaccu.ie. Please ensure that the attachments are legible and easy to read.
We understand that updating your identification might be a minor inconvenience if it’s currently expired. However, please note that this verification process is an important measure in maintaining the security of your account.
If the copy of identification we have one file for you is out of date, please note that you’ll still be able to conduct three transactions without issue. However, after these initial three transactions, any further transactions will necessitate completion of the verification process.
